Injectables VS. Fillers: What Do I Need?

 In Non Surgical Procedures

If you are looking for ways to restore some of the youthful smoothness to your skin, you may have heard of different treatments out there like “injectables” or “fillers.”

Injectables VS Fillers

In fact, both of these terms refer to the same category of cosmetic treatments. They’re fillers for your skin that are injected. There are a few different varieties of injectable fillers, and they each have certain advantages for different situations.

However, no matter which you go with, they all have a few things in common.

They can rejuvenate the appearance of your skin in a number of different ways – all without surgery. Since they are injections instead of surgical procedures, they also have a much quicker recovery periods and more immediate results.

Types of Injectable Fillers

    • Hyaluronic Acid

This is one of the most common and effective active ingredients in many different injectable fillers. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in your skin which absorbs water and assists in the production of collagen in order to restore fullness to aging skin. Popular brands that use Hyaluronic acid are Juvéderm and Restylane.

    • Collagen

Some fillers inject collagen directly into the skin instead of using another substance to stimulate its generation. Collagen is an important protein for your skin’s strength. CosmoDerm and Zyderm are a couple of brands of collagen injections.

    • Fat

Fat tissue may be removed from one area of the body and injected into a different part in order to add fullness or augment the shape of an area. This is the best option for anyone with severe allergies, as since the material is coming from your own body, any risk of reaction is eliminated.

    • Synthetic

These injectables use gels synthesised in a lab instead of naturally occurring substances. They are sometimes longer lasting but harder to reverse than other kinds of injectables. Radiesse and Sculptra, are both synthetic injectable fillers.

Uses for Injectable Fillers

    • Smooth Away Wrinkles

This is one of the best and most popular uses for injectable fillers. As we age, our skin loses some of its ability to retain hydration and it becomes weaker and less flexible. As a result, it sags more and develops wrinkles faster. Injectable fillers revitalize aging skin by adding fullness and making wrinkled areas smooth again. If you have fine lines or even deep wrinkles across your forehead and around your mouth, you may be an excellent candidate for injectable fillers.

    • Restore Definition

Sagging is the other unfortunate counterpart to wrinkles. Sagging skin robs your face of its clearly defined contours. Fortunately, injectable fillers can help you regain a smooth and clear facial contour by restoring volume to your skin. The chin and jawline are both areas that can get the best results from these treatments.

    • Fuller Lips

Injectable fillers are also good for augmenting your appearance. If you desire lips that are plumper and full, injectable fillers are the way to achieve this.
