In order to augment cheek volume, Dr. Pirani prefers to use either hyaluronic acid fillers, such as Juvederm® Voluma™, or fat harvested from your own tissues. Although implants can be used for cheek augmentation, Dr. Pirani believes that the results achieved with dermal fillers and fat grafting techniques are superior to those with implants. Implants in this area are also a source of long-term complications such as malposition and infection.
