What to Expect on the Day of Mini-Tummy Tuck Surgery
When you come to our surgical facility on the day of your procedure, you’ll receive either general or local anesthesia with sedation, which will be discussed in prior appointments. Dr. Pirani will make an incision above the pubic area and remove excess skin and fat. Depending on your surgical plan, he may tighten the abdominal muscles and perform liposuction in targeted areas. Once this is done, the incision will be closed, and a compression garment may be applied to minimize swelling.
After monitoring you for some time, you may be required to stay overnight for additional support, but Dr. Pirani will let you know whether this is necessary or not before surgery.
Mini-Tummy Tuck Recovery
After your mini tummy tuck two nurses will attend to you during your stay and ensure your comfort.
Most mini tummy tuck patients go home the same day. If a patient is required to stay overnight (or if a patient chooses to do so), Dr. Pirani will see you the next morning to make sure that you’re doing well before discharging you home. You will see Dr. Pirani regularly after your surgery.
